Our roots

Blended in Guyana, from botanicals with roots around the world.

CANORA began at a kitchen table in Georgetown, with a father, his daughters, and a head of locs that stayed dry no matter what the store shelves offered.

So we started mixing our own. Batch after batch, we tested blends of oils on our own hair, adjusting a little each time and keeping notes on what our scalps and locs loved. When we finally found the one that worked for all of us, we knew it was too good to keep to ourselves.

Today, that same family recipe is the CANORA Botanical Hair Elixir: light enough for fresh starter locs, rich enough for years of growth, and made for every texture in between.

We still blend in small batches and bottle by hand, so nothing sits on a shelf for a year before it reaches your scalp.

From our family to yours, we're glad to be part of your healthy hair journey.

What we carry with us

Kaieteur Falls

The single-drop giant of Potaro. Our elixir pours the same way — clean, generous, straight to the root.

The Jaguar

Strength and shine. What we want every head of locs walking out the door to carry.

Victoria Regia Lily

Our national lily floats and holds weight at once. Light on the hair, serious about the work.

The Golden Arrowhead

Green canopy, golden arrow, red flame — the colours our whole house is built on.
